Setúbal, Jazz Music events

Jazz in the Gardens of Setúbal City is organized by Municipality of Setúbal. Next September 18 ,will happen another concert with the band Jazz Class Dámson, with the famous songs of this kind of music .

The event will happen on Parque do Bonfim and will start at 6 pm. This gig makes part of Bocage Commemorations .

Setúbal has such amazing events during all year.

Sardines from Setúbal, One of the 7 Wonders pf Portuguese Gastronomy

History says that Sardines from Setúbal had been awarded on a international exhibition in Paris in 1855. In 2011 , once again, organized my several institutions this amazing fish was declared has One of the Seven Food Wonders of Portugal.

With strong traditions on the gastronomy in Setúbal, known by his fishes dishes. In Setúbal you will find several restaurants in the entire city with this amazing dish which you can taste it with several excellent wines from the region. ( More than 250 wine producers, if you are in Setúbal , don´t miss the Moscatel Wine, the best of World - announced recently on a International Muscat Contest.

Sant´Iago Fair in Setúbal

Sant´Iago Fair in Setúbal is almost ready to start. From 23 July till 7 August in Manteigadas, will be an event with lots of music, activities, exhibitions , local products, portuguese traditions, among many other things you can do.

Last year the organization sold more than 360.000 tickets to people from all world that were in Setúbal during summer vacations and local residents. The major bands to play during this year are Tony Carreira, Homens da Luta and from Setúbal Hands on Approach. Organized by Municipality of Setúbal and Associação Parque Sant’Iago, soon we will put available to you all the information concerning to dates and hours of the music events, once that all the rest of the activities are during the 16 days of the event.

Travel and visit Setúbal, you must be at the biggest annual fair of the country : Sant´Iago Fair .

AWC Vienna 3 years, its Assis Lobo Doc Palmela

Assis Lobo Casa Agrícola has several wines but today we make a reference ot Assis Lobo Doc Palmela . It’s a red wine produced on 2004 that get older during 12 months in deposit plus 12 months in the bottle.

They produced 100 hl and It’s a wine of great concentration. Purplish red colour with a intense flavours of red fruits and spices. To taste this amazing wine, we advice a temperature of 18º Celsius degrees preferable with a dish of meat or a strong flavor cheeses.

The vineyard has a total of 60 hectares and produces amazing wines. This company has international recognition with a total of 13 awards, specially on AWC Vienna (2006, 2007, 2008 – Silver Medal) for this wine.

XI Wines Contest of Península of Setúbal

On the next 17th May, will be decided the prizes of XI Wines Contest Peninsula of Setúbal. The jury decided on 3rd May the evaluation and classification of red, white and rose wines of Península of Setúbal and the next stage will be evaluate and classificate the White wines, red wines, sparkling category DO Palmela and Setúbal fortified Wines and Moscatels Roxo.

Besides Gold and Silver Medal, it will be award theBest White Wine, Best Red Wine, Best Fortified Wine and Best Liqueur of Península of Setúbal. This competition, has the participation of 23 wine producers of the region. This Wine Constest promotes the quality and excellency of several kind of wines that are produced on the Setúbal Region and the best in Portugal.

Portugal Dream Coast ® signs partinership with Câmara Municipal de Setúbal

Municipality of Setúbal choose Portugal Dream Coast ® to promote international through several digital channels several events.

The draft Portugal Coast Dream ® project began in January 2010 and has today a biggest dimension in the Digital World with 5 millhion views and a total more than 250 thousand people and business in more than 150 countries.

“It is with great joy that we were recognized by our work in disseminating Setúbal region worldwide, by the city of Setúbal. This partnership is now achieved a huge stake in the project we have been develop and will further benefit all persons, companies and institutions in the region and Portugal, in addition to the 95% of followers actively involved outside of Portugal. ” said João Lemos Cabral, CEO of Portugal Dream Coast ® that after several studies with different areas, conceived and implemented this project. Deolinda at Setubal Region in Seixal

Deolinda will perform once at Peninsula of Setúbal in Seixal, on next April 24th on Praça 1º de Maio. After the big sucess of "Que Parva que sou" huge performances at Coliseu Porto and Coliseu de Lisboa, they will make a unique gig on Setúbal region of their national tour. Besides Portugal, they will also travel to Spain for one concert only. Their World Music had already excellent international reviews, they were considered one of the 10 best albuns by The Sunday Times during 2010. Setúbal region and Seixal will receive one of the biggest acts in Portugal. Welcome to Portugal Dream Coast.

Watch our cute dolphins!

They’re friendly, cute and crazy about children. They’re a family of resident dolphins that live in the Sado estuary called “bottlenose”, a very common specie of dolphins. We all love to see dolphins and for many people the only way to do this is by visiting an aquarium. In Troia in Setubal you have the opportunity of seeing them in the wild all year round.
